As America edged slowly towards civil war the need for a train line through the heart of the country became imperative inorder to provide troops and supplies, however not everyone was in favour of the new lifeline. Sterling Hayden stars asundercover army engineer Captain John Nelson sent to deal with Southern-sympathisers who are sabotaging the construction of the railway, causing death and delay.
