DVD1 - Holidays with Pay
Randle's family visit Blackpool on their annual holidays but become embroiled in a murder plot and a haunted house. Randle's comic talents are in their prime and he is ably supported by Dan Young, Tessie O'Shea And Randle's real-life drinking partner - Josef Locke. Holidays with Pay was Randle's fifth film for Mancunian and was made in 1948 at John E Blakeley's Manchester studios and on location in Blackpool.

DVD2 - Over the Garden Wall
A working class couple (Jimmy James and Norman Evans) are planning to give their only daughter and new GI son-in-law a right Northern welcome. But trouble starts to flare when a young man flirts with James and Evan's daughter! Jimmy James is often hailed as the 'comedian's comedian'. He developed one of the funniest stage routines in variety history and was an inspiration to his fellow comedians. Norman Evans will forever be remembered for his toothless northern housewide character, Fanny Fairbrother, which influenced the young Les Dawson.

DVD3 - Love's a Luxury & What a Carry On
Hugh Wakefield and Derek Bond star in this comedy of a theatre producer and actor trying in vain to have a quiet week in a country cottage. Their efforts turn into comic disaster as a variety of wives, girlfriends and scoutmasters arrive uninvited. Also featured is What A Carry On (1949) in which northern comedy greats, Jimmy Jewel and Ben Warriss enlist in the army. Their singing sergeant-major, the Irish tenor Josef Locke, misappropriates the mess funds and the film descends into comic chaos as he tries to get himself out of the mess.
