Disc One - Dambuster Dropped from extremely low altitudes over water, the Dambusters Bombs would bounce across the surface like a skipping stone before striking their targets. This Programme relives the daring mission flown by the men of the 167 squadron who set off on the night of May 16, 1943. See how this historic mission unfolded in this remarkable documentary.
Disc Two - Bernard Montgomery This is a profile of one of Britain's greatest war heroes. 'Monty' successfully commanded Allied forces at the legendary Battle of El Alamein and troops under his command were largely responsible for the expulsion of the Axis forces from North Africa. He was later a prominent leader in Italy and North-West Europe where he was in command of all Allied ground forces during Operation Overlord.
Disc Three - The Battle Of Britain The battle fought over Britain between the 10th July and 31st October 1940 was the most important RAF battle of the entire war. Fighter Command took the Luftwaffe units arrayed against them and won. Using Pathe archive material as well as rarely seen colour footage of London's Blitz, this programme tells the blow-by-blow story of the death and glory battle fought in the skies over Britain. |
